Dog, cats, birds, lizards, hamsters? Different species have different signs of affection that they do, so I'm sure you can find a list and learn to read their behavior. I doubt they hate you. Even abusive owners don't usually have animals that hate them, sadly enough.

Unless you do have a lizard. Lizards hate everybody, and heaven help you if you don't place the crickets just so in their cage.

Lizards are awesome! I met a bearded dragon a few months ago who liked to climb on shoulders and eat waxworms off your palm.
