I wanted Daniel to come back and for Jonas to stay. Seriously... Jonas got only one guest episode in season 7 and nothing after that. That was bullshit.

I was never a huge SG-1 fan (though I certainly enjoyed it!) so I'm probably not as fond of them as most people (simply because I never finished the series), but agreed. I hear a lot of people don't like Jonas but I thought he was adorable. (And Daniel was one of my favorite things about the show.)

Eh, the ending gets kinda wonky but it's enjoyable for the most part. (You know, if you ever look into watching the rest.) It has a special place in my heart as my first TV show I was actually super and actively passionate about.

But yeah, they were both great. I think people didn't like Jonas not because he was a bad character but because he was replacing one a lot of people liked and they were comparing the two. It was unfair, really. Personally, my favorite was Sam but I just love everyone on the team. I just want them to be happy friends forever while they save the galaxy and shit.

Ooo, that makes perfect sense, yea. For some reason that didn't cross my mind, and I guess it's because, like I said, I was never a hardcore SG1 fan. I've been in that situation where I was bitter about a character leaving and it does suck for whoever replaces the actor. (Not saying I always hate the replacement, but I see how it could cause unfair resentment for some folks.)

Poor guy.

Yeah, it's a common enough thing that happens in fandom but it sucks to see it happen every time.

Amen! I mean, Daniel's original job was to translate stuff and do archaeology (and some anthropology), and he kind of ended up being team diplomat too because he was their 'socio-political nerd'...Jonas' primary training was in diplomacy/administration stuff although he could do the rest because he had a big giant brain. They should have kept him on to do their actual relating-to-aliens jobs, he could get stuff done while Jack and Daniel were still arguing over whether they should shoot everyone or take them into their bosoms as blood brothers.

I agree, they would have fit perfectly together. And imagine him and Daniel bickering about either diplomacy or archaeology.

"I can see that you think that. However, those of us who have studied this field extensively tend to differ."

Blah blah blah and then everyone just eyerolls and says they have to hurry or they'll shoot them in the butt or something.

They even had one episode where they were teamed up after Daniel came back. It's like they were taunting us with what could have been.

Yeah, the one and only episode with Jonas in it after season six ended. *sigh*

Yes. I enjoyed them both, and they could have had some interesting tension, given their history.

Agreed. It really bothered me that they didn't catch back up with his character one more time.

Yeah, I don't actually understand why they didn't. The fact that they didn't even want to acknowledge him at all seems really weird.
