It's starting to feel like these tar season-style secrets are somehow slipping in from another universe that is almost, but not quite like our own.

Although this one I think might just be a mistranslated idiom or something.

So, let's recap:

- This alternate universe has a "tar season" during which the roads are impassable. (Due to being on fire?)

- Crabs apparently hang out at higher elevations, and fall on people's heads.

Are we counting the "field fires of my youth" secret? Was that one ever explained?

There was another secret people thought was tar season anon that involved hazing and being put in "the spud hut" (I don't have that one bookmarked, so I'm not 100% sure). Maybe either there's a lot of potato cellars around or they really like this one restaurant from Princeton, Indiana

Potatoes, pretzels, cabbages... it IS Latvia.

We're halfway through the worldbuilding for our fantasy novel.

I think we should start documenting these tantalizing glimpses into that universe, and try to understand more about it.

I'll be honest, I'm going a little spreadsheet anon here and making a list of these things. I can only hope to someday understand what tar season is like.

It's a worthy contribution to the cause.

Then we should compile like a creepypasta about it or something, though I'm not so sure it's actually creepy XD

Did you see the GC thread about another tar season secret that predates the actual tar season one?

I'm not sure if I'd call it creepy, but it's definitely surreal!

I did, and added it to my weird list. Kind of nice to see the spud hut one confirmed. Tar season anon is dedicated--there's close to a year between the Rory one and the tar season one. Like it's some kind of long term art project.

Yeah, this is real dedication. Making up a bunch of secrets and posting them week after week is one thing, but this is way more. Definitely curious as to where it's going XD
