Either way, whatever word you're using, it's a really unhealthy way to function in a relationship.

Sure, but they're still completely different phenomena.

And actually, interdependence describes a much milder and healthier phenomena that what the OP implies is it (AFAIK, it's usually consciously chosen and controllable, it's contingent on circumstances, and it allows for change and adaptation in case of the dissolution of those circumstances, like a death or separation or something).

Although I bet a canonically interdependent relationship *would* be exaggerated in crappy fanfics to "CAN'T FUNCTION WITHOUT EACH OTHER."
