Yeah, same.

On one hand, I can't wait to see the episode because I'm sure it's gonna be epic.
On the other hand, though... no. Just no. It was bad enough in the books. I feel this is going to be worse.

This might be the first time that I'm glad I had to wait an extra week for a GoT episode. I've loved the hell out Oberyn, even if guy seems to be spending even more time in brothels than he does in the books.

Same here. I saw the week skip and my brain immediately went yay.

Now why can't you tell book people? Would it matter if they only watched that episode?

I do, but they're like "oh, okay? that's nice i guess?"

They're just not interested in the show, for whatever reasons (lack of time, increased rape and nudity, etc). So the fact that I'm bringing it up now has no relevancy. It's like someone starting to get sad over, IDK, the 1997 Titanic movie. Yeah, it was sad and all, but it came out a long time ago.

Since they're not interested in the show, there's nothing new to add to the discussion.

Pedro Pascal has been absolutely fantastic as Oberyn. I'm going to be devestated by Sunday's episode. It will be absolutely brutal. I'm going to miss him so dn much.

My roommate and coworker are already assuming that Oberyn's going to win, and then Tyrion's going to be officially "innocent", and then the next thing will be him dealing with people who still want him dead, even though the trial's over. And they wonder what Oberyn's going to get up to next.

I just sort of keep my impassive face the best I can.

I have the worst poker face. I can't talk to unspoiled people about this show.

This! So much - I have a friend whose only watched the show while I've been reading the books and watching so when she starts talking about Oberyn and the trial I keep having to censor myself to not give anything away because I do not want to spoil her.

... This just made me remember that I'll have to rewatch season 4 with my sister at some point during the summer, and that she'll probably make that assumption too. And my pokerface is going to be the worst thing ever, since now I'll know how the trial went down in the books AND the show.

Yeah, I didn't realize Oberyn hadn't died on the show yet and accidently told someone that he was the only good thing to come from Dorne. Oops.

See, my boyfriend doesn't even watch the show and figured out Oberyn was for the axe after just walking through the room while it was on. His reasoning? Guy was clearly a decent human being and so wouldn't make it to the end of the season.

I hear you. I'm watching it with my boyfriend, who hasn't read the books and avoids spoilers, but is always trying to guess who's going to die next. He's listened to me fangirl over Oberyn all season (and a bit before that, because when casting news came out I was all excited that he was going to be introduced). He is convinced that obviously Oberyn wins, because he is awesome and a badass, and I'm just biting my tongue trying not to tell him that I'm going to be heartbroken next episode.

Same OP. Saaaaaaaaame. I am going to miss him so much, I mean fuck I hated his death in the books so much so I knew it was coming but fuck I've fallen in love with show!Oberyn as well and I am really not looking forward to next week's episode. :(

I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't care for showberyn. He was basically reduced to being completely focused on sex all the time, to the point where he just became "excuse to show more pointless sex scenes: the character" and just doesn't have the same cool magnetism as his book version. Pedro's silly accent, average looks, and try hard acting doesn't help either.

He's so cool! And we got to see so much more of him in the show then we got in the books. I was sad when he died in the book but it's going to be so much worse watching it D:
