I wish my girlfriend was more assertive. I have made the first move every single step of the way in this relationship and I don't think she realizes that it's (almost?) as hard for me to do that as it would be for her, it's just that I'm putting effort into getting past that anxiety because one of us has to. Why do we both have to be so awkward and nervous about these things?

She knows. We've talked about it before. But I feel like it hasn't really sunk in and I don't want to bring it up again.

It's okay. Honestly this is the only problem I can think of with our relationship that has to do with us and not our circumstances, so I think we're doing pretty good. I just feel a little insecure sometimes.
