Crafters!

are you a crafter? What is it that you do? I'm an embroiderer and I wanted to become better at crochet but I never have time to practice anymore.

I knit and crochet and I've been trying to learn to spin for years but it's not coming nearly as easily to me as the other stuff. I can sew too and sometimes I get an urge to make something but overall I prefer knitting so I'm better off spending my money on yarn than fabric.

I'd love to learn to embroider too.

I make unit origami boxes (boxes made up of multiple identical units). I tend to use them instead of gift wrap, because I'm horrid at wrapping things but I'm pretty good at making boxes and I can use them as part of the gift.

I knit but I haven't knit in a long time. :( No time. I love knitting, though, and I'm pretty good at it.

I've not felt much interest in crafting for a long while, but I make jewelry, and do calligraphy. I'm much better at the jewelry.

Protip: My mom is freaking amazing at crochet, and it is super-portable. Throw it in a bag, and grab your hook on whatever break you might get. Five minutes here and there will build your skills just as well as long sessions.

I wish I was. I'm reasonably good at drawing but I'm terrible at crafts.

I dabble in a bunch of things. I do some sewing, have done a touch of knitting, can make chainmail, and build a lot of props for the LARP group I'm involved with. I also bake, if that counts.
