I don't like when people reveal a lot about their personal life on public forums, especially with selfies and their ilk.

Fandom and irl are two different spaces for me, and I'm really hating how they're merging.

How long have you been in fandom? On tight knit forums, fandom and real life merges. Fandom is less tight knit now, but real life still seeps in just as it always has.

But lots of people never bothered separating "fandom" and "irl." They've never been separate for me. When I got into fandom 16 years ago I did so with my irl friends, I never hid my fandom activities from my family, and I always considered fandom friends regular friends and talked to them about my personal life too. I keep a small public online footprint, but that has nothing to do with fandom.
