Brown Asian myself, but laugh anyway, you probably already are. I said already, I didn't know the canon this was based on, thought there might have been room to represent something else for a change when genre-wise, there isn't.

ok, I'm sorry, I think I misunderstood you. my point of contention is when people think that darkening a character's skin color is the best way to make them look not caucasian, when many non-caucasians also have lighter colored skin.

Personally I think you have a point - Caucasian is facial shape, not a skin colour. You can get brown caucasians as well. That kid's face is too caucasian-shaped, but I'm not very good at putting into words how he should be remade to be more Asian-shaped.
