I think a hero can allow defenseless people die sometimes, but it depends on the context a little.

But this is a tangent, haha! I'm stuck on the image instead of the secret. I have not played most of the games you are talking about, but I think it's okay for you to have this as your favorite, even if no one else agrees.

I think a hero would try not to let defenseless people be hurt, but how successful they are to save those people can be variable. Some situations are just too big, the hero just not there in time. Two examples I can think of from favourite games is the killing of the Bhaalspawn in Baldur's Gate: Throne of Bhaal and - more well-known - the crashing of the Seventh Sector Plate in Final Fantasy VII.

Yes, this is one of the types of situations that I was thinking. Also, sometimes there are cases where a hero is forced to make a choice, and anyway, there will be someone who is innocent that dies. I think a hero is made more by her motivations and if she tries to do what is best and protect people as best she can than never letting anyone die.

Ooo, this seems like it'd be right up my alley! Will check it out, so thanks for the inadvertent rec :3

It looks like it could be made in rpgmaker, and I don't mean that as a bad thing. I am all over this though, so thank you for the rec!

Actually, it WAS made in RPG Maker. (Most of my favorite RPGs are. Star Stealing Prince, The Reconstruction, Visions & Voices . . . It's a handy little tool if you know what you're doing.)

True. The VX version is on sale in humblebundle, along with a bunch of games and XP, so I am super excited to check out what I can do with it. My favourite would be Yume Nikki, and that's more of an adventure game than an rpg. Seriously, it's a neato tool!

I really want to play this now. Thanks, OP!
