People getting mad about female characters in porn while drawing or writing male characters in porn.

Example there's a few rule 34 of some ladies in my fandom. They get rotated around porn blogs sometimes. About every time one pops up someone inevitably complains about objectification. Yet a majority of the fandom is built on the back of porn. It's not porn of the white male they tend to focus on so I guess it's not ok.

I don't know if that's a trend...

It is defaultly a trend. They'll complain about fetishsizing and porn/sexually suggestive images or works of female characters while in the same breath they're doing the same with male characters. The hypocrisy is overwhelming.

kind of sorta related: people who constantly rave and rant about how female characters in certain shows are ignored and unappreciated by fandom/media...while exclusively writing m/m fic for the same shows that barely feature any of the female characters they supposedly hold so dear. damn, guys.

This drives me buggy. There was a bnf in a couple of my fandoms that was super into doing this for women and poc but she always ALWAYS shipped the two white dudes without fail, and only wrote fic and fanworks for her white dude ship. Like I've got no problem if you have a type and that's it, but don't pair it with lectures and rants about representation and how racist fandom is etc and then go and only write white dude ships.
