Definitely check with your eye doctor just to be sure. But more likely you either put it in backwards or the contact was dirty or torn when you put it in, and it irritated your eye. Try putting a cool damp cloth over it and see if that helps (but again, see your eye doctor to make sure there's no infection or anything).
