it's possible something like an eyelash got under your contact and because you didnt take the contact out, it rubbed between it and your eye until you got home. i would suggest some eyedrops to see if the lubrication helps.

in the future, i would also suggest taking your contact case with you as well as your lens solution, so if that happens again you can take your contact out immediately to check for ~foreign matter and then put it back in without it being dry or dirty from your hands.
