Every fandom has that one fic. My mind immediately went to one in my main fandom and I'll bet a bunch of other peoples' did too. Ugh. I feel you.

Yep! And then you look at the lower reviewed, lower kudoed, lower hit fics and go "This fic is so much better! Why don't people see this?" And then realize it's because of the one piece of drek that people do see and go "If this is best regarded fic in the fandom, I don't think I want to hang out here."

Or at least that's how I was before I learned that hits, kudos, and comments don't make good filters and instead found a fic I did like by an author I enjoyed and then started the bookmark/favorite walk.
