Do you talk to real people, ever?

I live in one of the most liberal towns in California. People in this town don't celebrate Columbus Day, they celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day. I'm somewhat isolated from what seems to be typical political discussion.

Speaking as a fellow Californian, albeit in a much more conservative area of the state, I have never heard people talk about sterilizing the poor all that much, though this may be because California.
