Bucky fans are miles better than Loki "he's just MISUNDERSTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNND" fans.

Give me people flailing over Bucky's - valid - angst over idiots who are blinded by the pretty boy any day.

That said, I understand. Any over-saturation can be annoying if you're not part of it.

(This said by a huge fan of the character who will cry if Cap 3 doesn't have a happy ending.)

+1, sorta...

+1 on the Loki part.

I feel your opinion is invalidated by you faning, though.

I just honestly do not see the comparison between Loki and Bucky at all - except that they're both cast in the role of antagonist.

They are completely different characters, with different motivations, personalities, back stories etc.

I can totally get how it's annoying to have a lot of people in your fandom swooning over a character you don't like, but saying he's Loki 2.0 is basically ridiculous.

Unlike Loki, Bucky actually is an Avenger.

Burn :)

Technically, you can make a case for Loki's angst being valid too.

Though Bucky's angst being valid doesn't make the fandom insistence you have to love him and cry over him any less obnoxious.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Loki, however, has consistently made choices that harm others. Bucky never had a choice.

No need to love Bucky. But if you don't feel at least a bit horrified about what happened to him I do question your...empathy.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Empathy? He's not a real person. I feel that the situation is horrifying, but connecting to him personally? Not everyone who doesn't cry over this character is lacking empathy, and I can't stand when fandom insists you have to in order to prove you do.

Any over-saturation can be annoying if you're not part of it.

This is the key then that many tend to forget about when complaining about other people squeeing too much about things we don't like. I try not to complain because I know I've probably done the same thing to somebody else Hell, I was in the initial MCU Loki fandom so it's pretty much a guarantee.
