The operative words for me here are "no critics". I'm writing a couple of fics at the moment for some miniscule fandoms that aren't even tagged on AO3 (or I had to start the tag myself).

I find it freeing - whatever else, my fic is bound to be the best one out there. However dubious an honour that will be.

However, with the lack of audience, I also am having trouble finishing the stories. It's easier when I know there's a ready audience. As for betas, that's going to be a tough one.
