Free samples. I don't care if it's through the mail at the supermarket or at a festival. I love free samples even if the sample is something I don't even want or need. I usually end up taking it because I already have in mind who I am going to give it to. Like I don't wear make-up but on your birthday, Sephora will give you a free tube of lipstick as a gift. I grabbed that so fast because the color is my mom's favorite color. She loved it and couldn't believe it was free. And if you are wondering, no, I don't try to pass the samples as gifts. I tell the people I am giving it to that it was free for such and such reason. I don't like being seen as cheap. It's more of, "Hey, they were giving these away for free and I know you like this. So, I grabbed one for you."

Oh man, I love free samples too! And I'm the same way about taking the free samples and passing them off to friends. I have no problem with that at all.

One of the things I really love about Korea is the free samples you get everywhere. I go buy a tube of moisturizer and get like a dozen little samples of different things...packages usually have a smaller package of something stuck to them...and the free samples at supermarkets are great too. And no etiquette where you have to get just one; people will make circuits around the grocery store eating, or hang out at the steak sample station and eat like a dozen bites. Fantastic stuff.
