i'm not in the arrow fandom, but i was pleasantly surprised at the quantity of fargo slash on ao3, considering it's a somewhat obscure show (it's constantly praised but it seems most people have no idea it exists). i have my fix of mr.numbers/mr.wrench and i couldn't be happier :D (also there needs to be fic about the two fbi guys, they were hilarious this week)

I'm one of those people who didn't know that show existed! Is it based off of the movie?

yes and no. the atmosphere and humor is based off of the movie's, the setting's the same, and there are numerous echoes and references to the movie, but the story and the characters are different.
it is very, very good. not for everyone, but if you like the movie, you'll most likely like the show.
