So which Star Trek it is?

On topic, well, it's great that you're active in fandom, OP. Imho it's possible to ignore fans you don't like even in a small fandom.

upd. Sometimes a handful can make a pairing popular. Not one person, I don't think, but two or three can. So as long as you enjoy what you're doing, op, why not? It's somewhat productive.

If I had to guess...upset Spock/Kirk fan that's pissed Kirk/Bones is more popular in nu!Trek.

Could be worse. They could be a Spock/McCoy fan in either.

This is what I was thinking.

Although I don't really get what the OP means by "they are in the wrong (but more popular) fandom and pairing." Seems like a really weird statement to make. Maybe they're someone who only ships canon hardcore? Because otherwise, I don't see why they would say other shippers are "wrong." But considering ships/OTPs are apparently a war, maybe I shouldn't try to look for too much logic or consistency in this instance.

I first took that line as speaking about how shippers see fans of other pairings. Like A/B is the fandom's popular pairing - for an A/C shipper, A/B is "wrong", but it's still the popular one.

Or it could be the viewpoint of a canon-shipper in a fandom where the popular pairing is a non-canon pairing.

But then I find myself thinking, am I being too optimistic about what the OP means?

Was there tension or animosity between Spock/Kirk fans and Kirk/Bones fans? I'm relatively new to the fandom and love both pairs and I've found that their fans seem to be perfectly chill with each other and lots of people seem to ship both. Maybe I missed something but it actually seems completely relaxed between the two ships for the most part.

Based on the background of the badge, I'm guessing reboot/Abrams Trek. Which isn't surprising.
