I look at that gif and think "I wonder how long it took to get the cat to sit still and be petted when they filmed that?"

And then I start wondering about how Spock logics sitting there and petting a cat. Maybe it's as simple as "Petting the cat soothes it, so I will pet the cat to keep it calm."

Who knows, man. Though it must be a professional 'actor' so maybe it's well trained? Even the well trained animals sometimes act out though.

I feel like Spock probably has a great deal of affection for animals, but he probably does use logic to explain his interactions with them, lol.
