I can...kinda see where you're coming from.

I mean, I definitely get the frustration of liking something, and really disliking or outright hating everyone else who likes that same thing, but having to put up with them because there's no one else making relevant fanworks and nowhere else to find them. I can also get the feeling that pairings or sub-fandoms are competing, even though I wouldn't necessarily say that's the case.

Calling it a war, though, is definitely stretching it a bit too far. But I can sympathize with the frustration this attitude would have been borne from. I'm sorry your fandom experience has been like that.
