Re: Do you consider atheists oppressed?

I don't know if I would go so far as to say atheists are oppressed - but yeah, I do think they are discriminated against. Just as someone from a non-Christian religion is. And even in the US it really does depend on where you are.

For most of the United States is not so much active discrimination as it is there is a strong basis in favor of Christian religion. (i.e. Christmas is a Federal Holiday - but no religions high holy day is). And there is fact that a large number of people say they would not vote for someone if they knew that person was an atheist.
