Maybe your friend realized their mistake and took up the cause as a way of apologizing and showing support. They may be too ashamed to bring it up to you directly but being an ally is a way they can show they get it now.

Either way, I hope you can learn to forgive, even if your friend doesn't apologize. They got it wrong, but they likely never meant to hurt you. You say they are a good friend, so give them the benefit of the doubt. It will help you most of all.
