Yeah, I think it's basically the same kind of dislike that people had for Justin Bieber, or really plenty of other popular young pop stars, but people have a weird urge to turn it into a critique of Miley Cyrus as a person that just doesn't make sense to me.

Actually the Bieber example isn't even that good because Bieber has done things that are way more 'out of control' or whatever than Cyrus has done, when you're talking about their actual performances and not their personal lives. That's not to justify things like Cyrus' feud with Sinead O'Connor or anything but people seem to really have a lot of venom.

I thought the cultural appropriation thing was because she was talking about "being a nigga" or whatever it was? Not the twerking. People find twerking obnoxious and I see people complain about her doing it quite often, but I don't remember any talk of appropriation because of that. Just her cringeworthy comments.

She was claiming to be into the 'black lifestyle' or something while at the same time used fat black women as props in her show. I think that's disgusting-- There IS a history of racism in doing that, and black people were justifiably upset about it.

She also doesn't have an ounce of free will or creativity, but that's just my personal beef.

Something about 'not letting 80 year old jewish executives dictate her music' when, as far as I can tell, none of her current label's executives are Jewish. A few people took it as a nod to the ol' 'Jews control the media' trope.

Yeah, Mileys not on the level of scumbag that the others are. But I don't think she's exactly someone people should be so concerned with by constantly talking about her and following her.

She's just like every other 20-something growing up and being reckless (like Justin Beiber) so people who stan for them... it's still weird. It's like stanning for my cousin.
