The way I see it, they're going to be two completely different characters. (With different personalities, backgrounds, etc, so there isn't much point of comparing them.)

...However, people will do it anyway, I'll probably do it anyway as well, even though, again, apples and orange. It's okay to prefer one or the other too. (But we haven't exactly seen much of him or Wanda yet so there's no telling what his character is going to be like in AOU.)

(...Except, well, it appears that Pietro and Wanda will be antagonists since Hydra had locked them up and experimented on them, but I'm hoping at some point during the movie they'll turn on Hydra and work with the Avengers.)

But in regards to Peter Evans as Quicksilver, I can't imagine liking anyone else better in the role just because he's so funny and weird and endearing, and AOU sounds like it might be a bit more serious so that Pietro probably won't get to have as much fun. The sheer glee that Peter's scenes filled me with would be tough to beat.

In my opinion, Pietro in DoFP stole the show because he was so much fun. Everybody else is all srs bsns and then he comes along for kicks and giggles.

That scene in the kitchen was one of my favorite parts of the movie.

Yea, DOFP was a pretty dark film and didn't offer a lot of laughs (granted, a COUPLE, not many) or fun-times, but Peter was a great reprieve from the weight of the story.

The kitchen scene was delightful, in part because of how unexpected it was. It was just a great looking, unusual scene (I want a behind the scenes featurette on this) and did really cool things with his powers. (How many superheros stop to give someone a wedgie before moving bullets out of midair? Oh Peter.)

God, that scene was amazing. Just brilliant, especially considering how ready Charles and Erik were to angst about killing. Meanwhile, Pietro is delivering melvins.

The rest of the movie went so idiotic right at the scene in the conference room I just sort of washed my hands of it.

Why would that make them antagonists, necessarily?

Did you see that Cap 2 end credit scene? The Hydra people in attendance indicated the twins as though they were to be their secret weapons, so thinking they'll put in some work as antagonists in A2 is a pretty logical prediction.

What anon said: Hydra has them, and they intend to use them against someone, and since they're going to be in Age of Ultron...it wouldn't be far fetched.

Because what everyone else said, but they may be being controlled by Loki's staff since Hydra also has that. But honestly, these two are fairly big Avengers in terms of history, particularly 70's through 90's comics, so I doubt that they will stay antagonists if they are that in A2. I can see them fighting the Avengers at the beginning, but something will occur and they get away from them and team up with the Avengers for the rest of the movie.
