Now matter how the show spins it, I'm forever convinced Red is her biological father. Because the only other way I can imagine the writers to go, and have it all still make sense, would be that if she isn't his daughter then she's still the daughter he believes should have been his for whatever reason.

I find the latter more interesting. That he's projecting the hopes and dreams he had for his own child on her.
