I sort of wish it hadn't become a thing for people to join fandom just to write smut fic. I have nothing against those people, I just... miss when you could get really excited about something you loved to dorkified levels, and when half the people care less about that and more about their pornfic, that's lost. And as someone who really just wants to squee and doesn't even necessarily care about any fanfic, that sucks.

The good news: the smaller RPG fandoms still don't care that much about shipping. The bad news: Dethtoll is the GOOD side of RPG fandom. (You don't want to meet the bad side.)
