Fictional characters don't have to deal with a whole host of real-life problems, unless those problems serve to advance the plot. I'm more concerned with why we never see naked women in strip clubs and why women still have their bras on after just having had sex even though they're still covered by a sheet.

That bra thing bugs me, too. I know there are decency standards on TV so a lot of the channels can't show or insinuate too much (at least here in the US), but it still really takes me out of the story because it's so silly. As is the perfect hair and makeup afterwards. I'd rather they just not show bed scenes at all if they're going to be ridiculous about it.

na

The makeup thing has always bugged me too but it bothers me even more when we see a character wake up in the morning and you can see that she's obviously wearing perfectly applied makeup. It's just kind of funny because who would do that? I mean, okay, I've done it a couple of times when I passed out drunk in bed... and I would wake up with makeup smeared on my pillow.

But the worst for me is when a character is shown to have spent hours in labor and there isn't a hair out of place in her perfect hairdo and, again, her makeup looks as professionally done as ever. Come on.
