I love gen fic. I wish more people would write friendship fic, especially missing scenes.

Thanks. It'd be nice if more people read gen fic too. I usually get kudos on my fic but the number of hits are often quite low. Oh well. *shrugs*

This is unpopular? D: In some fandoms I tend to only read genfic.

It's considered boring, harder to write, etc... I've even been implied to be immature for it.

People say that, but is it true? If you held a poll to see how many prefer no shipping/no romance to shipping, I think the shippers would win.

Same. Though for me, it's not so much missing scenes as complete stories. If there's a TV show I like, I'd love to find fics that are like a written episode of that show with everyone in character and there's an actual plot.

I love complete stories that are like the TV show, but I really do love missing scenes. More gen fic in general would be good.

Does genfic stand for general fic? I actually find I really appreciate friendship and/or new story fics. Or PG13 romance scenes, that sort of thing. You're not alone in that.

Gen fic = no sex and no romance. I prefer non-romance fanfic. :)

On a related note, I would love to see long, plotty adventure stories where some ships exist but they're in the background and the relationship is not the main focus of the story. So, something that's mostly Gen but includes a non-canon ship or slash ship.

Not me. Like I said, I love gen best of all and wish there was more.

I feel the same way. I've seen some fantastic stories that go mainly unnoticed. Either I have terrible taste in fic (which is possible) or it's because those stories are gen.

I wish they would too. D: I love me some good, plotty gen fic.
