The former is more offensive, even if the latter is more annoying (to me) because I see it more. The former is actually nasty and homophobic. The latter is just immature.

The former would be more irritating to me if I ran in circles that weren't so slash-saturated though.

You're going out of context. If indeed it's just those statements, it's fine.

But it's not. It's the shit you responded too. It's smug motherfuckers going "oh they are so obviously gay oh you poor little normies how can you not seeeee" and usually insterting that "cause HE'S SO GAY" into conversations that weren't about sexuality at all until that asshole showed up...

So it's more like

"Yeah, no, they aren't gay"

vs

(4 paragraph essay on why that person is wrong and also a call to dogpile).

and that's a lot more fucking annoying then the person who just wants to wait for a character to actually say/do something in canon before they go to that conclusion.

That "ugh" isn't always "Ugh, homophobes". A lot of times it's "Ugh, you shitting up the board with your reaching theories FOR THE FIFTH THREAD. TODAY."
