That scene will always have a special place in my heart. I can't wait for all the fanvids; that dialogue is going to be very useful.

(I was kind of shocked when Charles actually said it, tbh. They ended up sounding more like ex-lovers who were still pining for one another than ex-friends.)

For real. I don't think it takes slash goggles to read that scene as gay. I think it takes a complete blindfold of denial to read it otherwise.

I am incapable of seeing their relationship as anything other than romantic. Not sure if it's the slash goggles or not, but I know both times I saw the film I was wondering if everyone else was seeing the sad love story of Charles and Erik too. Unfortunately no one screamed out "Now kiss" during the plane scene, so I guess we'll never know.

Like, literally, they could not have made that dialogue closer to "we were in love and you left me" if they tried.
