I'd rather have a super corny romance over the abusive mess that was Twilight. After seeing one trailer I know I never want to see it (the dialogue makes me want to vomit) but, unlike Twilight, it's harmless.

I suppose that in principle, you're right. And if I were to actually choose what gets more popularity, I'd go with TFIOS. But I cannot deny the fact that Twilight fans leave me indifferent, while the fans of TFIOS make me want to crawl into a dark corner and die. I've never encountered a book that irritated me more.
