Yeah, no, as someone who has been watching anime since the late 1980s, I can say for a fact that you have rose-tinted nostalgia goggles on.

Sailor Moon, YYH, Kenshin and Cutey Honey weren't "good" shows. Don't get me wrong, they're fun and I loved watching them, but they were also extremely repetitive and formulaic. They adhered very strongly to tropes - and there's nothing wrong with that, but they weren't really innovative or original or even that deep.

Cowboy Bebop is probably the only show out of the ones you've listed (that I've seen) that I would class as a genuinely good show. The rest are your average shounen/shoujo stuff.
