I don't get why so many people think ASoFaI is so overwhelmingly bad or some kind of revolutionary series. I enjoyed it, but it seemed a fairly standard political intrigue/medieval fantasy series. I don't get why it provokes such violent hatred from some people.

That being said, I find the show distasteful often.

I think the violent hatred might be a reaction against the violent love many people have for the show.

when people go: "THIS IS THE GREATEST SHOW EVER! HERE GO AND WATCH IT EVEN THOUGH YOU'VE REPEATEDLY TOLD ME YOU DON'T LIKE GRIMDARK FANTASY!"

it gets tiring after a while.
