I can't help but feel weirdly offended when people don't like my favorite shows and ship my ships. I don't start shit but taking offense is a kneejerk reaction for me when I see it.

oh man, i feel you on this. sometimes i feel like i'm too pushy with the stuff i like but other times i don't try to recommend them because i don't want to have that weird offended feeling. rationally i know i shouldn't be taking it personally, and i can handle valid criticism well enough, but "it sucks!" comments just get under my skin.

I feel this way occasionally about my fave shows and ships but not often. I feel this mostly about my favorite characters. Most of them are considered the scrappy in their respective fandoms so you'd think I'd be used to it but nope.

For me it depends on how people say it. If they are like "well I'm not really into it but I'm glad you enjoy it" or "I don't really see it" , but when they're really judgey and ugly about it, that makes me upset.

Yeah, agreed. I don't have any opposing hate!ships or anything, but I always get a little peeved when people aren't shipping on my side anyway. :/
