When everybody in the fandom ships something, and I just don't get it, and I just can't ship it. Even worse when they loudly insist it's "OMG SO CANON!"

Right now, this applies to Hannibal fandom (the Hannibal/Will ship). it's everywhere, and I can't escape it. I actually used to sort-of ship it myself, in a fucked-up kinda way, but with how prevalent it is and how loud the shippers are, it's evolved from indifference to loathing.

This also applies to Supernatural fandom's obsession with Dean/Cas and how it's TOTALLY CANON YOU GUIZE. Over time, it actually starts to eat away at my enjoyment of the show.

+100000000 the "IT'S SO CANON!!1111" bugs the shit out of me even for ships that *I* personally ship rabidly. Do I ship it? Yes! Is it canon? No, and it also strikes me as super-unimaginative to not consider any non-shippy views and interpretations that other people have.

lol me too, even for ships I am passionate about! I know it's not canon and it doesn't bother me, I literally do not care! why does it even matter if it's canon, anyway? That hasn't stopped anyone before!

not to mention... I get kind of sick of everything always being interpreted as a romantic relationship. like, why can't we celebrate friendship for a change? or family bonding? (that's my other pet peeve - THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH GENFIC.)

I'm not in Teen Wolf fandom, so I don't really have an opinion on that! Sorry!

(But if it's anything like Dean/Cas or one of these other juggernaut ships where people extrapolate "canon" from the characters exchanging a heated look, then yeah, I'd probably hate it.)
