I thought Cruise as Lestat sounded terrible from the moment they announced it way back when. I was genuinely surprised there were so many people who thought it was a good casting.

Same here. I remember the reaction being: WHAT THE SLIPPERY FUCK, REALLY?

I think he did an okay job with it, but I wouldn't have cast Tom Cruise after reading the books.

Me too and while I don't think he was terrible, I will always think he was miscast.

Not anywhere near as miscast as Antonio Banderas or Brad Pitt. I like them both, but they were not the right fits for that movie.

I flipped out because I thought it was the WORST CASTING EVER, then ended up liking him in the movie anyway.
