I liked him okay as Lestat, but Stuart Townsend was still better, even though everyone seems to hate the QotD movie.

The problem with the QotD movie is that is was a horrible mashup of that book and The Vampire Lestat. I'm surprised that anyone who hasn't read the books was able to enjoy it/make sense of it. That aside, I did prefer ST's Lestat.

Agreed. I loved Stuart Townsend as Lestat (especially over Tom), but the movie itself was like they tried to take Queen of the Damned and some of the later books (that include the twins etc) and smoosh them up, which completely made a fuck up of the real plot.

That said... Memnoch the Devil and Tale of the Body Thief were always my two faves, and I would still love to see film adaptations of them, despite the path of wtfuckery Anne Rice seems to have done down with her latter books.

Stuart looked even less like book Lestat but IMO carried the attitude better. I mean, they did pretty much play two different characters because IWtV is Lestat-from-Louis's-point-of-view. But yeah.
