Frost giants with horns? In my MCU fic?

It's more common than you think.

That is really everywhere. I don't mind it, but it's strange.

I don't mind it either, but it's still one of those things that baffles me because I don't know why/how/when it became a thing.

I guess everyone just REALLY liked Loki's helmet in Thor.

I think the larger ones do have some kind of horny/bone thing going on on their heads? Not like full on horns but something. I think.

But yeah I get a little confused when I see jotun!Loki with horns, because he doesn't in the film but eh, people like what they like.

Best I could tell from a quick image search, they're more like markings or ornaments. But if I remember correctly, most frost giants in Thor only had these simple markings going for them. Or, idk, my tired brain is telling me that they could be just super visible veins? I don't trust my brain when it's tired, though.

Yeah I can't tell if those are bone or bits of armour, like the rest of their outfit(the more I look at it though the more it looks like an ornament of some kind). They do have almost scar-like skin markings across their bodies but those don't go up into horns.

Ugh been in fandom for so long ,forgotten what Frost Giants actually look like.

I'd wager that they're meant to be either ornaments or bits of armour. Which just raises more questions in my mind, because if they're supposed to be bits of armour, what purpose do they have? I mean, obviously those things can't be used as proper helmets. Or maybe frost giants just like to dress up for battle? I have no idea. I'm still kind of baffled by the fact that Loki gets to have hair while his dad and the rest of the frost giants appear to be bald.

Tbh, that happened to me too. The first thought I had while searching for that picture was "man, you guys look nothing like the pretty people with blue skin and horns that I've read about"!

New head-canon: Frost Giants are super-vain and make sure to all kinds of bone/armour ornaments on themselves because they like to feel fancy. (It could be a ranking thing? Laufey seems to have more head ornaments so maybe it's almost like a crown?)

I remembered that they have red eyes! Though tbf that gets mentioned in every fic with Joutn!Loki like twenty times or something.

Head-canon accepted! They'd be super competitive about it, too. Like, all the warrios would be involved in this silent one-upmanship of who can make the prettiest armour, practicality be damned. (It could be a ranking thing, yeah. Laufey's also the only guy who seems to have have shoulder armour. Oh god, I need to rewatch Thor at some point because I just keep staring at that picture, trying to spot more differences between the armours.)

Oh yeah, can't forget the eyes! I also remembered the markings they have on their skin, because that's another thing the fics won't let me forget. What I didn't remember, however, was that frost giants had facial features that were a lot more... giant-y. Go figure.
