Frankly I don't like the guy, either. He's a creep, clearly idolizes certain singers to the point that they are *the* only (insert role here) for him. Heck, one of his most famous works is basically a self-insert exercise (Phantom of the Opera), and almost everyone around him during that time admits to it.

Is that why he wrote that sequel musical where Christine and the phantom end up together?

Same anon: Yeah, probably. Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess were really talented (imo), but that was a combination of bad fanfiction from Susan Kay and wish fulfillment desires from ALW.

Nah, worse. It would have been less bad if they did Susan Kay. Love Never Dies is based on Phantom of Manhattan which is a godawful full of OCC characterizations.

I read actual fanfics that ware better.

Same anon: Thanks for correcting me! I don't like E/C, so I have a hard time keeping the different iterations of it straight.

But frankly, even if it were an original idea, it'd still be awful. Now we just have two people to blame instead of one.

Well, I used to ship E/C when younger. The thing that bugged me about the Manhattan story is that, IIRC, Eric basically impregnated Christine when she was unconscious. at least in Kay's version, she had some agency.

Right? Like his relationship with Sarah Brightman makes Phantom so creepy for me. Like it's so... obvious and weird.
