Re: Stuff you love, but can't really recommend to other people

I...actually enjoyed the Secret Circle series (the books, not that...thing the TV series was) It's sooooo bad. The main character is pretty much a Mary Sue who gets the specialist powers and everyone loves her, so there's no way I'd rec it.

I sometimes hesitate to rec Princess Tutu. Not because of the content, I think it's a really great anime, it just has a stupid name.

I unironically enjoy all of LJ Smith's books, mostly because I look at them and think, "This is my childhood. I grew up with these people." but also because to me they're just pure escapism and fluff and I love soulmate concepts even though yes realistically it'd be weird and creepy to be pretty much TOLD you're ~meant to be~ with one person only.

I never watched any of the TV series' though.

I don't think it's that weird as anime names go

I have the same issue with Princess Tutu. It's my favorite anime but I sometiems hesitate to tell people that (especially if I don't know them that well or they're not that into anime) because the name sounds so silly, I always have to follow it up with "No, really, it's awesome, I swear!"

Princess Tutu is actually one of the few things I like that I don't hesitate to recommend to anyone. I just always say "I know the name sounds stupid, but..."
