Homura/Madoka.

Bubbline (at least, it WOULD be canon if it weren't for Cartoon Network telling the writers "no," so really, it counts as canon because the writers definitely want it to be [maybe this part would go better under the "misconceptions the fandom has" thread]).

Sasha Braus LOVES potatoes.

Sasha doesn't love potatoes?

I mean, she loves food in general. but pretty sure that includes potatoes. Or did I miss a chapter?

She's obsessive about food, but she's not especially partial to potatoes at all. The food she was eating when she was introduced happened to be a potato, but it could have been anything else for all it matters to her character.

but the other characters called her Potato Girl for awhile, didn't they. I mean, I don't think it's ridiculous that fans associate her with potatoes.

of course, I'm not in the fandom, so maybe that gets really overdone.

It IS overdone. In the series it was a teasing nickname for something silly she did when she was 13.

In FANDOM she is obsessed with potatoes and food to the point that 99% of fanworks involve her stuffing her face with potatoes/chips/fries/etc.

I mean, gee, it's not like she survived a food shortage or anything that would give her food issues ...

err, but her obsessed with food is a gag in the series, too. I mean we can justify it, sure, but the only problem I see here is that it's apparently overdone. but that's pretty much how I remember her from the series, mostly stealing/mooching food jokes, and I haven't set foot in the fandom.
