(Anonymous) 2014-06-10 05:07 am (UTC)(link)LET ME LOVE YOU.
I haven't got to play the first one yet(idk if i'd need to buy it secondhand or rent it from a video store)
but yeah! such a great game. god and I just weep over how much better it could have been if they hadn't pushed to get it out and sell it. fucking marketers are the worst. just let the artists and writers do their thing, dammit.
I will say that I was really disappointed by the ending. it just didn't feel very fulfilling. and Peragus is a pain to get through. but Kreia will always remain my favourite female villain of all time.
which level kept bugging for you?
Re: Stuff you love, but can't really recommend to other people
Other than that I can't remember TOO many bugs; it was enough, though.
If you enjoyed KOTOR2 then you NEED to play KOTOR. Like, immediately. (Hell, the game has been out so long and is so hard to find/expensive now...I think torrenting it would be perfectly fine. If I didn't already own it I would.) It is ten times the game KOTOR2 is. And it's actually complete and has an even greater cast of characters who you get to interact with so much more! It's one of my all time favorite RPG's, and games in general. The story is so damn compelling too; it's extremely solid. What KOTOR2 does right KOTOR does better, but I guess that's no shock seeing as that game had longer development (pretty sure, anyway). It's amazing. I'm not exaggerating, I just love the game that much.
But KOTOR2 could've been really fucking special, the team just didn't follow through with everything they wanted and planned to do. There's a fanmade patch released that adds a lot of the cut content back into the game, so you might feel like giving that a shot. I've been meaning too as well.
The ending is what hurt the most, tbh. (KOTOR had a short ending too, so it wasn't the GREATEST, but everything leading up to the last cutscene is absolutely wonderful so I can cut it some slack.) That and the fact you couldn't 'fully' romance anyone, because I love my BioWare romances. But the ending was the main thing that hurt the game because it felt extremely rushed and unsatisfying. And they were going to do more with it, but again...it didn't happen. If only the game hadn't been so rushed, it could've been much better.
