Oh my god Name Of The Wind. Thank god the hype for that has mostly faded at this point. So unenjoyable me. I think the worst part was that everything was somehow justified by the fact that Kvothe was an unreliable narrator. But having an unreliable narrator doesn't make something good, in and of itself, unless you do something with it.

Yesss! Yes yes yes. It's not just that, either: the whole "unreliable narrator" thing only really works when there are multiple narrators, so that the story isn't driven by a single flawed perspective. And in this case, the "interviewer" absolutely doesn't count, since he wasn't present for the bulk of the events in the book.

It's just...ugh. It's a whole lot of nothing, surrounded by bright, hot flashes of awful (the female characters. Jesus fuck, the female characters).
