I wish the fandom had never exploded because I think it's overrated? I mean usually I'm fine with letting other people have their fun but it's an annoyingly super-defensive fandom and I'm ready to stop seeing people who are sort of my friends reblog all the posts that are like "LOL if you're not wet about PR we can't be friends."

I really don't understand where you and the folks saying similar things about The Winter Soldier (movie and/or character) are getting your fandom interactions. So different from my own experiences. Maybe I just surround myself with "live and let live" folks… :(

That's the thing that sucks a fuck about it, that PR is so widely creamed over that people who generally are very "live and let live" will imply those things because they think they can just assume that everybody loves the damn movie. The "You can tell everything about a person based on whether they liked Pacific Rim" shit is probably pretty tongue-in-cheek but that doesn't stop me from wishing they'd STFU.
