I think that movie is a bit tricky - It does seem like the dumb blonde joke played straight, but in the end, it was a bit of a subversion of all the "pretty girl is also smart and wins over all" trope: She was just as good at all things law school related as the rest but in the end, she won because she ALSO had an additional skillset unrelated to her law degree and it was the thing people mocked her about. So, rather than "she only won because she knew about girly stuff", it was "stop discounting skills you think are useless because it will bite you in the ass". It wasn't perfectly done, but still.
