oh man, there are so many but i can't remember anything D: it's so frustrating

also i know it sounds sappy but if a shippy story is long, well-written and beautifully grounded into reality (i.e. not fluff), my favorite line tends to be a variant of "i love you". it's just, i like the sentimentality of it, just sitting here in what is otherwise a gritty and realistic story. it has a lot more impact that way.

I'd love to read an example if you could remember it. I'm fascinated by "I love you" deliveries in fiction that don't punch you in the face with sap.
