Am I the only one who sees threads like this and goes into it absolutely hoping someone is going to mention something of theirs? Never happens, but a ficcer can dream...

I did have someone randomly quote a line from one of my fics once as an example of good romantic writing. But they were using it to hijack a love meme about another canon with "Everything about your canon sucks" and threw it in as a counterexample, so I didn't end up actually appreciating it so much as going, "Oh goody, an asshole likes my stuff." And also it was a line that, while something I was pleased with, was part of a 1Sentence challenge and thus was deliberatly overwritten to cram as much into as few words as possible.
