Holy shit wait. I looked up the fic, and the author also wrote a very popular fic for a bigger, more recent fandom. There was a brief wank surrounding that fic, partially about the content of the fic itself, but also about the author having a beta/similar "lackey" respond to criticism and possibly deleting negative comments. Seems like they have a tendency to inspire very passionate fans.

I don't know about that - I haven't finished reading DCwT because I'm not as big into that fandom and the fic itself just isn't clicking with me. That said, I'm surprised if the author would let people access their account to delete comments, but I can see the podfic narrator/self-appointed 'agent' responding to comments on their own accord, because that's the kind of person they are. The author is sweet as can be, but a bit of a doormat to that kind of thing. Basically lol now I want links and deets.

ETA: Okay, I think I found the comment in question and IDK man, if I got a comment like that, I don't think I'd answer it either. The comment is about being triggered by the author's 'queerbaiting' because the two aren't explicitly together towards the end of the fic and that's some tumblr Destiel-style crap, idk. I'd be disappointed in the author if they deleted the comments, though. Now it makes me want to ask them.

ETA: AGAIN but lol yeah there's the podfic narrator acting like this is some serious job again ha that's kind of the behavior that pisses me off. Wow.

Yup, that was the comment. I wanna say there were some problems with comments being deleted before, but I'm not positive about that.
